Open Mic & Poetry Competition
A much-loved festival fixture, this Open Mic night draws poets and musicians from all over to perform their work. The highlight of the evening is the announcement of the winners of the annual Westival International Poetry Competition, which attracts huge volumes of entries from around the world. With a first prize of €1,000, the competition is judged by three highly acclaimed Irish poets, Ger Reidy, Geraldine Mitchell and John McAuliffe. Many previous winners have gone on to become well-established poets. Hear their work first at The Wyatt!
