‘We Already Have a Voice’ is an anthology written by a bunch of young people who do not want to be told that they are being “empowered” because they know they’re powerful already! Extracts from the book will be read, copies will be signed, bad language will be used and above all, craic will be had. All of this is part of the Lit Festival, Europe’s first literary festival run by young people.
Part of the Imagine Arts Festival, Trá Tales features spoken word, poetry, stories, and even the occasional song. Readers welcome. Free admission.
Set in a ‘Well-Field’ during a raucous village fair, this heart-warming interactive performance brings to life poems about childhood friends, kindness and dancing foxes, created by residents of St Joseph’s Ward, Bantry General Hospital, in collaboration with artist Tess Leak, puppeteer Eoin Lynch, composer Justin Grounds and supported by dementia care tutor Sarah Cairns. Interaction strongly encouraged!
A CPD session for artists in care settings for older people. Artist Tess Leak, puppeteer Eoin Lynch, activities co-ordinator Sarah Cairns and composer Justin Grounds will draw on their experience of developing an interactive performance with a group of residents at Bantry General Hospital in this inspiring session for artists interested in facilitating cross-artform participatory projects in care settings for older people.
