The new season of the Open Mic at Walter’s in Dún Laoghaire kicks off on Wednesday, September 11th, at 7pm. Hosted by poets Phil Lynch and Alison Hackett, this event welcomes poets, bloggers, short-prose writers, singers, and performers of all kinds to either participate or enjoy as part of the audience. Both hosts will share readings from their work before opening the floor to attendees. Participants are encouraged to prepare up to five minutes of material, whether it be poetry, spoken word, songs, or flash fiction. The order of readings will be determined on a first-come, first-served basis, with sign-ups beginning 15 minutes before the start. This free event, supported by the DLR Arts Office, Walter’s Bar, and ArtNetdlr, is a monthly gathering on the second Wednesday of every month, fostering a creative and inclusive environment for all.
