Poet PHIL LYNCH will host the live Open Mic on Wednesday 12 JUNE, 7pm, upstairs at Walters, Dun Laoghaire. As every month now, its a great evening for poets, bloggers, short-prose writers to come along and participate or attend as audience. Phil Lynch will read from his recently published new poetry collection, Moving On (Salmon Poetry), followed by an Open Mic. All Welcome!
How does the Open Mic work?
Readers will have a maximum of 5 minutes each which could be a few short poems/spoken word or one longer piece or flash fiction, about 800 words of prose. Please rehearse and check your timing before arriving. Bear in mind that less can sometimes be more|!
On the night we’ll order the open mic readings on a first come first served basis — just tell the organisers when you arrive if you wish to read. Sign-up available from 15 minutes before the start time. For all readers it is important to respect the diversity and sensitivities of the audience. Listeners are just as welcome as performers! Moderation is by the event organisers.
This event is free, supported by dlr Arts Office, Walters bar, and ArtNetdlr.
