WeAreGriot & St. Patrick’s Day Festival bring you TALKATIVES: Rhythm and Poetry Slam. Think Hip-Hop Cypher Meets Poetry Slam. Think Def Jam Poetry Meets Rap Battle.
TALKATIVES features 4 rappers and 4 poets who will battle it out, judged on their flow, content and performance. A panel of 3 judges including Dublin’s leading rap poets plus the audience will make the final decision with the winner receiving a prize of €200!
Hosted by the WeareGriot crew: FeliSpeaks (Aka Felicia Olusanya) is a young Nigerian-Irish poet, performer & playwright. Having recently been nominated ‘Best Performer’ by Dublin Fringe Festival 2018 for her performance in ‘Boychild’, co-written by Dagogo Hart and herself. Samuel Yakura, an Art Enthusiast who finds expression through the performing arts. During the day, he's a building engineer by profession and at night he becomes the writer and performance poet. Dagogo Hart, a Dublin based poet, writer and spoken word artist performing in Dublin. A 2017 Slam Sunday grand slam winner and All Ireland poetry slam finalist. His poetry is inspired by his hometown in Lagos, Nigeria and his experience since moving to Ireland. DJ Will Boyle on the decks, from 10pm until midnight.
