The Limerick Writers’ Centre presents the November 2019 ‘On the Nail’ Literary Gathering on Thurs 7th Nov 2019 at The People’s Museum, Pery Square, Limerick. Start 8pm. This month guests are Joseph Sweeney and Jessica Brown plus the OPEN-MIC!
Joseph Sweeney was born in Dublin and graduated from UCD with an honours Master's Degree in Anglo Irish Literature in 1983.
He has been a full time writer since 2007. He has won and been shortlisted for various award including winning the Bryan MacMahon Short Story Award, 2015. In 2017 he was longlisted for the Colm Toibin International Short Story Award. He is the author of a collection of humorous stories and essays entitled Tilting At Windmills [Amazon.com].
Jessica Brown is currently pursuing her PhD at the University of Limerick. Her publications include an essay in the book Jane Austen and the Arts, articles in Journal for Spiritual Formation and Soul Care, as well as the children’s novel The River Boy and several short stories and creative nonfiction essays. Born and raised in southeast Texas, she now lives with her husband and son in County Clare. She will read from her recent poetry collection And Say published by Revival Press. Everyone is invited to take part in the open-mic after the main event, poets, storytellers, musicians and writers. Even if you don't write you are welcome to bring something along to read. The night begins at 8.00pm and admission is free. So join us on the night and make this event something special.
