‘We Already Have a Voice’ is an anthology written by a bunch of young people who do not want to be told that they are being “empowered” because they know they’re powerful already! Extracts from the book will be read, copies will be signed, bad language will be used and above all, craic will be had. All of this is part of the Lit Festival, Europe’s first literary festival run by young people. It is an event dedicated to the rebels, the writers, the shouters and the creators. It is for young and old alike to unite over good old fashioned boldness and courage. Whether it’s Climate Change or mental health, no topic goes unspoken about, and spoken beautifully about, I must say. It’s a chance for the young people who made all of this happen to shine a light on what they feel is important to talk about. It will be a performance of Ireland’s up and coming fresh new talent with spoken word in Irish as well English. I can guarantee, you will not regret coming along to see what these young people have been poeming about.
