News from the Grapevine, there's a new storytelling night in Kinsale.

"Human beings have always told each other stories. To connect, to entertain, to learn, to heal, to rejoice, and to make sense of the world."

This longstanding oral tradition is alive and well in Ireland, and we are excited to announce a fresh opportunity to engage with it.

On Tuesday, July 30th, Prim’s Bookshop of Kinsale will host its first iteration of The Grapevine, a monthly storytelling night. Hosted by Cork native Daniel Galvin, The Grapevine invites both novice and experienced storytellers to share their tales.

From real-life anecdotes to diary entries, poems, dramatic monologues, folktales, and historical episodes, any narrative that can be verbally shared is welcome. Each month will have an opening theme, the theme for July will be “home is where the heart is.”

Attendees are encouraged to join in and share a story about the place you grew up, the town you now live in, or the home you're still seeking. All interested parties should contact Daniel Galvin ahead of the event. If you have a story in mind but need some guidance, Daniel is here to help.

Doors open at 7pm on July 30th, with the event kicking off at 8pm. Immerse yourself in the world of the seanchaithe.
