Mark your calendar for November 30th, when the nation’s top poets will gather at Pearse Street Library in Dublin from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to compete for the prestigious slam title. This much-anticipated event promises an afternoon brimming with passionate verses, raw emotion, and unforgettable performances that celebrate the power of spoken word.
This year's lineup boasts fierce talent from across the provinces:
Munster Qualifiers: Kemi George-Simpson, Mel White, and Ciaran MacArtain.
Leinster Qualifiers: Cormac Fitz, Seán Walsh, and Heavy Kevvy.
Ulster Qualifiers: Cat Brogan, Mal Farrell, and Cass North.
Connacht Slam Qualifiers – Still Open for Entry!
The Connacht Slam will be conducted online, making it accessible for poets across Ireland who haven’t yet competed in a regional slam. To enter, poets must submit a video recording of one poem (max 3 minutes) to rising.tide.events23@gmail.com by November 16th. Two independent judges will review entries and select the top three to join the national final in Dublin.
