Erin Fornoff, a dynamic presence in Irish poetry, via the Appalachian mountains of South Carolina, reads from her renowned repertoire of lyrical and propulsive spoken word poetry, and from the work-in-progress that will form the follow-up to her acclaimed debut Hymn to the Reckless (Dedalus Press). Erin will share the stage with the poet Gustav Parker Hibbett, a native of New Mexico currently living in Dublin, who will read from their powerful and eagerly anticipated debut poetry collection High Jump as Icarus Story (Banshee Press).
Readings will be followed by discussion and Q&A.
‘Of all the poetry I read, it is lines and images carved by this brilliant woman [Erin Fornoff] that stay with me and that I find myself quoting to friends whenever I’m allowed to talk poetry!’ - Hollie McNish
‘Let the lesser animal of me burn / comets, constellations, in the crumpled linen of the night.’ - From the poem ‘In which I attend my own lynching’, in Gustav Parker Hibbett’s 2024 collection High Jump as Icarus Story (Banshee Press)
