The Tain has many great heroes and warriors, and none more compelling than the Woman King of Connaught, Medb. Warrior, mother, lover, and above all, ruler, Medb brooked no compromise and went to any lengths to assert her status. She reshaped the landscape, waged the bloodiest war in ancient Ireland.
