Leinster Poets Advance to All-Ireland Slam Final 2024

The level of competition at Sin É last night reached new heights Sunday, 30th September. Cormac Fitz claimed the title of Leinster Regional Slam Champion, his second title this year, following his win in the as Gaeilge competition earlier this year in March.

Fitz, along with second-place finisher Seán Walsh and third-place Kev Kennedy a.k.a "Heavy Kevvy", will now move on to represent Leinster in the All-Ireland Poetry Slam finals. Each of these poets delivered standout performances—Seán Walsh with his commanding stage presence and Heavy Kevvy with his emotionally charged delivery of "Concrete Orange," which brought the audience to tears.

Having qualified from the Leinster heat, these three poets will join the top competitors from Connacht, Munster, and Ulster to compete for the title of Ireland’s Poetry Slam Champion 2025. The ultimate winner will go on to represent Ireland at the European Poetry Slam Championship 2025, showcasing the richness of Irish spoken word on the international stage.

The All-Ireland Poetry Slam final will take place on November 30th at Pearse Street Library in Dublin, running from 2:00pm to 6:00pm. The event promises to be an unforgettable afternoon of spoken word.
