The 13th All Ireland Poetry Slam Final takes place in Dublin this November
Now in its 13th year, The All Ireland Poetry Slam Final is scheduled to take place in Sinatra's Bar at The Arlington Hotel in Dublin on Friday the 8th November. After a series of Heats, Ireland's four provinces have produced three finalists who will represent their region, one of whom will be crowned the 2019 All Ireland Slam Poetry Champion.
Poetry Slam rules apply for each performance, all poems are to be memorized, lasting under three minutes with no music or props and judged by a panel of judges. The winner will be awarded a trophy and a cash prize. There will also be a cash prize of those who place 2nd and 3rd. Following in the footsteps of previous winners Beau Williams and Nuala Leonard the winner will be encouraged to travel and compete at the European and World Championships, representing Ireland.
The poets taking part in the 2019 All-Ireland Poetry Slam Final from Leinster are Birdwoman, Ciara Ní É, and Sheila Ryder; from Connacht, Conor Quinlan, Ikenna Anyabuike, and Rachel Ní Leannáin; from Ulster, Niall O' Mianain, Elizabeth McGeown, and Michael Wilson; from Munster Cathal Holden, James Crickard, and Shanna Lee Lynch.
The 2018 All-Ireland Champion Beau Williams is the MC of the competition with a special guest performance by the 2017 All-Ireland Champion Nuala Leonard.
